Three years after the deadly rail collision at Tempi that claimed 57 lives, Greek communities and allies abroad are preparing a coordinated day of remembrance and protest, as grief echoes far beyond Greece's borders.
On Saturday 28 February 2026, rallies, vigils and demonstrations will take place across Europe, North America and Australia, organised by diaspora groups and solidarity networks. More than 15 events have already been announced, with further gatherings expected ahead of the tragic anniversary. Many of the calls to gather stress "so that the crime is not forgotten" and to demand justice for the victims of what some describe as a "predetermined crime".
In the UK, the Greek Solidarity Network UK has called a 12:00 gathering outside the Greek Embassy at Holland Park in London. In Bath, participants are set to meet at 11:00 at Bath Abbey, while in Edinburgh, a rally is planned on Princes Street. A protest will also take place at The Spire in Dublin at 12:00.

Elsewhere in Europe, Brussels will host a demonstration at 18:00 in Place Luxembourg, a symbolic location near EU institutions. In Geneva, a gathering is planned at Place des Nations, a hub for international diplomacy. In Gothenburg, Sweden, the Greek Migrants Solidarity of Gothenburg has announced a "Protest for Tempi" at 18:00 in Järntorget, while in Barcelona, demonstrators will assemble at 12:00 at Arc de Triomf.
In Germany, multiple cities are mobilising. The Greek Community of Munich and Surroundings is organising a 15:00 protest in Königsplatz, calling the disaster a "preordained crime". Berlin's rally will take place at 12:00 outside the Greek Embassy, organised by the Berlin Scientists' Association. Further demonstrations are scheduled in Stuttgart's Schlossplatz at 17:00, Dresden's Wiener Platz at 15:00 near the Hauptbahnhof, Hanover's Opernplatz at 12:00, and outside the Greek Consulate in Frankfurt at 15:00.
Beyond Europe, an event is expected at the Greek Consulate in Melbourne. In Montreal, the Greek Workers' Association of Quebec is calling a gathering outside the Greek Consulate on 28 February, marking three years "since the crime at Tempi", while in Toronto, the Greek Canadian Democratic Organisation has announced an event for Sunday, 1 March 2026.
