The Greek subsidiary of the European infoteam Software Group, infoteam HELLAS, is positioning itself for a strategic entry into Europe’s research landscape, using Thessaloniki as its operational base. The company aims to act as a catalyst for Greece’s innovation ecosystem while strengthening the country’s presence in European research programmes.
Central to this strategy is a new strategic cooperation agreement with the Open Up Greek Scientific Association of Innovation, a scientific community focused on supporting innovation, education and entrepreneurship. Open Up provides consultancy services for European-funded projects and works to bridge research with market application. infoteam HELLAS managing director Alexis Papadimitriou, tells Voria.gr the partnership lays the groundwork for joint initiatives that will support participation in European research programmes and enhance the competitiveness of innovative solutions developed both in Greece and across Europe.
At the same time, infoteam HELLAS is strengthening its European footprint through active participation in key transnational networks. The company has joined ALL Digital, one of Europe’s leading networks promoting digital skills, digital inclusion and collaboration between organisations working towards a digitally empowered society. Membership offers access to a broad European ecosystem, facilitating knowledge exchange, partnerships and involvement in projects with strong social and technological impact.

The Thessaloniki-based subsidiary has also recently joined Crowdhelix, an open innovation platform linking universities, research bodies, businesses and innovative teams, as well as the Alliance for AI, IoT and Edge Continuum Innovation (AIOTI). Through these affiliations, infoteam HELLAS gains access to international working groups, initiatives and programmes advancing innovation in the fields of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and edge technologies.
Papadimitriou stresses that, “the focus is no longer simply on attracting more investment, but on meaningful investment that generates knowledge, high-skilled jobs, opportunities for young scientists and tangible social value.” With more than four decades of international experience across sectors including industry, robotics, defence, healthcare, social sciences and public services, the European group brings high-value expertise into the Greek context, he adds.
Papadimitriou concluded: “From Thessaloniki, infoteam HELLAS is developing into a hub connecting research, the market, and society. It is fostering collaborations with universities, research centres, public bodies, and start-ups, helping ensure that innovation moves beyond theory and is translated into practical solutions with real impact on the local and national innovation ecosystem.”
