Thessaloniki’s AI startups turn everyday problems into smart solutions

From a digital tutor with 4,500 users to a job platform automating 90% of applications, a new wave of AI tools is emerging from northern Greece

Artificial intelligence is starting to make a difference all across northern Greece, and Thessaloniki is becoming a lively hub for many exciting new projects. Local startups and tech ventures are developing AI-powered solutions across sectors such as education, tourism, recruitment, and manufacturing. These innovations are focused on practical, real-world applications that could truly benefit communities and industries.

Δασκαλάκος AI (Daskalakos AI)
Created by a Thessaloniki-based former primary school teacher, this educational tool supports students from early primary to upper secondary level as a supplementary "digital tutor". With 4,500 users, it introduces children safely to artificial intelligence, while also assisting teachers and giving parents more oversight of their children's online activity. 

Tripkey.ai
Developed by a 21-year-old student from Thessaloniki, Tripkey.ai is a guest communication platform designed to improve personalisation in tourism. It operates via WhatsApp and a web interface, allowing hotels to offer more tailored and contactless experiences while connecting visitors with local services. 

Loopcv
This Thessaloniki-based platform uses AI to automate much of the job search process, reducing the time and effort required of candidates. It reportedly automates up to 90% of applications and has reached 1.6 million registrations globally, with around 10,000 monthly users. 

Prooflab
Prooflab, a Thessaloniki-based startup, provides tools to help businesses adopt AI in a structured and secure way. Its platform enables companies to test, build and optimise AI systems tailored to their needs, addressing concerns around risk and implementation. 

mbb.ai
Founded by three Thessaloniki-based founders, mbb.ai is a GenAI platform focused on interview preparation, particularly for consulting roles. It offers simulated interview environments and has been used by more than 10,000 candidates, including graduates from leading international universities. 

Instantsite
This Thessaloniki-based startup enables users to create professional websites quickly without coding knowledge. Designed for small businesses and freelancers, it aims to reduce cost and complexity by allowing sites to be generated in minutes through simple steps. 

SentiGeek
SentiGeek, a Thessaloniki deep-tech startup, uses hybrid AI to analyse consumer sentiment from sources such as social media, reviews, and emails. Its goal is to help businesses better understand customer emotions and improve products and services accordingly. 

GoCharlie
Founded by two Thessaloniki-born scientists in New York, GoCharlie develops private and cost-efficient AI solutions tailored to business needs. The company focuses on accessibility and security, serving clients including industrial firms, pharmaceutical companies and hospitals in the United States. 

tmicro
This Thessaloniki startup offers AI-driven "microfactory" solutions that enable small-scale manufacturing at lower cost and with faster setup. Its modular model covers everything from product design and equipment to staff training and project management.
