UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin visited Thessaloniki's Toumba Stadium to attend PAOK's Europa League play-off clash with Celta Vigo.

Before the match, Ceferin laid flowers outside the black and white ground in tribute to seven PAOK supporters who lost their lives in a road accident on a Romanian motorway on 27 January 2026. The group of fans was travelling by minibus from northern Greece to Lyon, France, to attend a Europa League fixture when they were involved in a devastating collision.
